Free Traffic for Your Business Website - Method #1

No matter how great your website is or how much you have to offer, you won't succeed in your home business until you let people know that you exist. The two things any business needs to succeed are "something to sell" and "someone to sell it to". For an Internet business that means you need to get traffic to your website.
One of the methods that anyone can use is the manual traffic exchange. There are hundreds of manual traffic exchanges on the Internet today and most have a free membership level that will allow you to exchange clicks for page views. A traffic exchange usually involves "surfing" member pages using a surf bar and clicking an image when the timer hits zero. (This is to ensure that a real person is viewing the ads.)
A manual traffic exchange allows you to input a URL link to the page of your choice to display to other users of the traffic exchange. Since we're talking about getting traffic for free, it works like this: Sign up for the free membership and input your URL link. Log into the surf bar and view other member's pages for a set length of time, (anywhere from 5 seconds to 60 seconds), and in return you receive credits that you can assign to your URL link, credits thus being converted into your page being viewed by other members
A URL link on a manual traffic exchange acts like a commercial on television. You have the viewer's attention by virtue of having your ad in the rotation. What you do with it is up to you. You can gain name recognition by having your photograph on your ads, gain sign-ups to your mailing list by offering free reports, or even make a sale by showing an affiliate page. Or, combine all three to really make your presence felt.
A quick loading page with links to your site is called a splash page and you can either make your own or get a free template to edit, adding your information and uploading it to your own website. Fast loading is what you want, save the video and audio files for your web page as slow loading pages can work against you, burning up credits when the viewer only sees your ad for a fraction of the time mandated by the surf bar. 5 to 60 seconds is not a long time, especially if your page takes 3-11 seconds to load.
Since most traffic exchanges have paid membership levels as well as the free membership, you may have to view several pages to earn 1 credit. Each exchange is different and many have contests where you can win even more credits.
This method is time intensive, but by running your advertisement on multiple traffic exchanges you can ensure that many people see it and the cost of "free" is very attractive when you're just starting out and have no advertising budget. Getting people to your website is one of the most important things you can do when starting a new business on the Internet.
